The Spiritual Journey includes…death
As I write today…after another week of learning and experiencing and feeling the pain of stretching…in my thinking and in my life…
These words came to me from Scott/Spirit…
I am the mother and child and the teacher and the student in all this work I’m doing with our blog.
It is “our” blog. Scott in Spirit…my beloved child who died suddenly at nineteen…twenty years ago…writes with me.
I’ve told you that I channel these words…profound, insightful, thought provoking words…that come through me to teach us all.
I have needed to hear and read these words as much as you…or any of us who are seeking answers and greater knowing while on the grief journey…or any painful aspect of life…or trying to understand why we are here…or why life is so very challenging sometimes…or always.
The words flow through me to bring this statement which I now know is the core of our blog…in this second year…
We are spiritual beings having spiritual experiences within our human experiences…
Taking this statement in…one word at a time…might allow you to grasp the enormity of its meaning.
Life and death…and Scott’s death brought me to this place of having to know more about…death…
So that I could find meaning and eventually peace of mind…as I’ve traveled these last twenty challenging…and yet truly meaningful years.
As a spiritual being I see myself in this life as Sara Ruble. Born as Sara Jane Sharp, I married and became Sara Jessie…Scott’s mom. Later I divorced and became Sara Ruble.
Still through all the names changes…I am one woman on a spiritual journey…many experiences…with much to learn and try and find my way…through great pain and love and Scott’s death.
That is why I am filled with passion about this blog.
We need to go deeper to help us understand this enormous…life and death confusion…
I have learned… My spiritual journey…as yours is too…is why we have come to earth. Why we were born…
And with Scott/Spirit almost continuously showing me he never left my side…even after it appeared he disappeared off the face of this earth… I must share his words with you…
So we can grow and understand…more.
Scott/Spirit…
We’ve written this many times before… Mom and I planned this life together.
Just like every one of you did with your mother and father, siblings, friends, and others…before you were born.
This planning creates the next spiritual journey we all will take… A new life filled with experiences that will grow us, challenge us…and create greater awareness.
There is a bigger picture… Much bigger…than can be seen easily through human eyes.
No one would come here to endure the immense pain and love and failed loves and hurt that occurs in life…if given a choice…
And why is it that this has been the way life has always been…throughout hundreds of centuries of wars and famine and deaths…that we cannot even begin to understand?
Because it was not time yet…to know…
The life you are living now has brought you to our blog…seeking greater understanding and meaning…
From your own pain…just like Sara/Mom…who sought out new thinking…and needing to go beyond conventional or cliché answers…
We share this…
Death is a part of everyone’s spiritual plan…planned and determined before we are born.
And yes, the plan is forgotten at birth…
The human experience is why we come…
Those who leave their bodies at death…see everything in perfect clarity the moment they leave their body.
We see our entire spiritual journey…and how it was followed precisely…just as it had been planned before birth.
Because…remember…everyone is a spiritual being in a human body…
At death…the spirit leaves the body to become One with God…Spirit.
And sees the immense spiritual meaning and beauty of their lifetime…whether extremely challenging or not…bad decisions, good decisions… Now all knowing…everything was needed…for learning…pain…growth…while in the human body.
A baby…who dies before or after birth…is completely aware of all that was needed for that brief and extremely valuable life experience.
Being One with God…Spirit provides your loved ones with the ability to see the grieving process for everyone they’ve known and loved…and is totally present in those lives still…forever…whether or not connecting with signs or dreams…and knows only love, shares only love from that perfect vantage point of Spirit…
Everything is planned…
This death experience is not the same as Near Death Experiences (NDE’s). These too are planned (before birth) for the spirit in the human body to see clearly, feel deeply, and experience all they do. Even the dark moments that may be experienced in the NDE are bringing fears to the forefront…to be addressed while still in the body.
Those who experience an NDE are meant to come back into the body…thus deceased family members are often telling them to “go back” …
NDE’s provide truly valuable information and validation to the connection of life and death and Spirit…and the beauty of it all. They are intended to be life changing for the experiencers. Coming back into the body and sharing with such clarity…opens other’s minds up to the power of magnificent spiritual experiences.
Everything has meaning…
As Scott/Spirit…one with your loved ones…we share this now because…it is time.
The Universe opens up to bring greater meaning and shifts in thinking to the spiritual beings in the human bodies…
You.
Because you are very important in the process of life… You are here because your life and your experiences are needed. You may be the student one day and the teacher the next. What you share or learn can help another.
Be open…trust…believe…
Sara/Mom knows there is more to share…
Love, love,
Sara and Scott

Thank you for sharing your “timely” blog! There are no coincidences and I know I was meant to read this blog today and be reminded that this life is just merely a “blink” and there a larger picture greater than any human mind can comprehend. Again, sometimes I just need that gently reminder. I read that Scott was 19 and that 20 years later you still fight to come to terms with it. I guess I can cut myself some slack that it’s only been 6 years since my son passed…the loss, the grief, the healing is all part of my journey and thus a part of me now. Sara you are an inspiration! Thank you and Scott for coming to the aid of those walking this path, as it is sometimes a very challenging path to walk!
Thank you Sonja for your thoughts. We learn so much on this journey that others cannot always understand. As we grow and see with more clarity we can help teach on this topic so few want to discuss. At six years…and being aware of the bigger picture and assimilating that into your daily life is so helpful. And yes…no coincidences! xox
Dear Sara – I so feel your pain. I lost my son almost five years ago and haven’t stopped trying to find him. I am beginning to have doubts and really hope that you and all the others who believe are correct- that we are spiritual beings having a human life which we chose before we were born and that someday I will see my son again.
Love Lee
Dear Lee… I had to find my understanding of the spiritual piece too. I now see it in my life, in my past with Scott too…that our lives are lives are forever connected. Scott assures me of this… Our planned journey in this life and beyond is meant to continue forever. It is like that for everyone. Your son, my son…we are one with them Spirit to Spirit. I hope that makes sense… Thank you for sharing Lee. I wish you well… xox
Sara, My son died, it will be 6 years ago May 2015. I have had readings and he has come through. Wondering……does Scott come through to you psychically? I would love for this to occur. If so, how did you develop the ability or did you have the ability prior to his death. I believe that my son is out of his chronic pain……that he surrounds me, but don’t seem to have the proof that you say you experience. Yes, my life goes on and I also had to deal with death of a husband, retirement, death of a sister, remarriage (which has been a GOD thing, for sure), but really re-working who I am with so may roles vanishing so quickly.
I’m so sorry about your son Patricia. I have been where you are…so wanting that one on one connection and not knowing how to make it happen. I began to hear Scott naturally…in ways that I now know are soul planned for this lifetime. Words and phrases popped into my thinking and I knew they were not my thoughts. We can never know if that is going to happen for us…
At six years …where you are now…I had no idea this could happen. I did what I could to hear from Scott and to tried to remain open. I wrote down every sign and dated it. I made a list and wrote down the name of every song I heard that I thought was coming from him. It made me very aware of the words “out there” that could be his connecting with me. Now I know…it was him. Trust what comes to you Patricia. Give this time… I know that’s hard. He’s there. And he’ll let you know. xox
My son Clifford passed 4yrs ago.. He has told me it is very hard for him to come to me. Does it get easier for them
Dear Lindy… Each of us has a different yet sometimes similar journey through grief. Scott assures me that Clifford is very aware of your love for him. Trust in his love for you and that he knows your need to hear from him is great. It is like this for many who are grieving. It isn’t that it is hard for him to come through…it is that everything comes in Spirit’s timing. Continue to do your grief work…Lindy. He’s there…and you will see more in time. xoxo
Sara, I just lost my mom 3 weeks ago and I miss her so much that I feel like I’m crawling out of my skin at times. While her death was not a surprise, I was not prepared like I thought. How can you be prepared? Nothing in life prepares you for what you feel when you lose a loved one. I held her hand as she died and know the very moment her spirit left her body. It was an amazing, yet bittersweet experience. I consider myself incredibly blessed to have been there with her. Now, however, I feel the incredible void and pain that her death has left me with. Sometimes, I feel like I’ll never be able to feel normal again. I know exactly what you are talking about when you say that you needed to find out where he was and wouldn’t be able to rest until you did. That is how I am feeling. I was raised in a strong Christian family, so I do believe in eternal life. Having experienced her death has caused me to redefine and begin searching for proof and solid answers. My fear is that I won’t ever find them. God, I hope all this is true. The alternative is unbearable for me to even consider. Thank you for your blog. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts and hope that they can help me move forward.
Sincerely,
Laura
Laura, I understand your feelings. So normal and yet so hard to be there. The pain and grief we feel push us to seek out answers to the deep questions we have. It is all a part of the journey. Mine, your’s, everyone’s. The answers do come…in time, and bring us the greater knowing needed for each of our grief journeys. Trust your mom is all around you and speak to her. Write to her… Build on the connection you’ve had. Her love for you is eternal and unconditional. Trust you’ll understand more in time… xox
Sara,
I lost my beautiful amazing daughter (Tianna) in a car accident, it will be 3 years on 19th. My daughter hasn’t came to me although my husband said she has come to him twice and my 18 year old son has seen her once and has felt her presence on a few occasions. I am not certain why Tianna hasn’t come to me. When I am in my darkest moments individuals reach out to me and I know that they feel compelled to do so. It is a very difficult journey to say the least. I know what you are saying in your blog is the truth its the only thing that makes sense
Dear Sherry,
I know three years is a long time… Missing our children and wanting to hear from them is so hard. I know they know what we need…and I learned to trust that. Just so you know…I have not ever seen or felt Scott’s presence. Of course I wanted that to happen.
What I have learned is in what ever way each of us individually connects to our loved ones comes from our life plan/soul plan. The bigger picture is always working to provide that which is needed in our life. I know this may not help you now…but as you said…it is the only thing that makes sense. I’m so glad you wrote Sherry…your words can help others who are struggling too. As we told Laura in an earlier comment…write to Tianna…and speak to her in ways that say…I trust you’re with me always. xox
Dear Sara, I am so sorry about the loss of your precious son Scott. I am glad you are blogging about your continued relationship with Scott in the afterlife and that he is helping you write this blog – thanks Scott . I think it is so important to share with everyone especially other bereaved parents this amazing miracle of a continuation of life on the other side. I lost my 17 yr old son Adam in a tragic car accident in 2006. I too have a forever connection with my son Adam as well visits, amazing signs and messages from mediums. It is so important to share because our greatest healing comes from knowing they are happy and still very much with us, helping us to heal and live our best life (that we signed up for with them). Thanks for sharing your experiences with Scott and letting us know not only is this possible but it is perfectly natural and comes in time when we can be open to looking for signs and hoping for visits. Our children want more than anything for us to know they are happy and wish to connect with us helping us every step of the way.
Love,
Adam’s mom Patti
Thank you Patti, for sharing what you have learned about continuing relationships from Adam. I’m so happy you are experiencing all that you are. Our children and loved ones become such great teachers…in opening us up to the “new” in ways no one else could. We KNOW they are connecting and showing us the bigger picture as we need it.
I have learned the more I share openly about my relationship with Scott, the more others are able to open their hearts and minds to more. That’s part of our jobs now! Thank you Patti. xox
Dear Sara/Scott, In some ways it makes me feel hopeful that perhaps I will be able to reconnect with my sons, Gerald and Eldon, who died together 33 months ago in a bizarre motorcycle accident. However, I find it hard to ever believe I would have “agreed” to this arrangement as they were my life and soul, being not only my only children, but the part of life I looked forward to since a little girl. I always wanted to be a mother. Also, they were much needed fathers who were big parts of their children’s lives. None of it really makes sense. My grandchildren lives miles and hours away, so I rarely see them. My heart is broken in so many pieces and I don’t feel I’ll ever really recover from it. I get few dreams and I wish I wasn’t so pragmatic because perhaps I’d see the signs as signs and not so easily explain them away. I feel so dead inside. If only I really knew I’d see them again. And how can I trust, when the treasures of my life have been stolen away?
Thank you for your blog. I am very sorry for your loss, as well. You have a beautiful son and I’m so glad you can connect with him. Hugs and <3 <3 Genevra
Dear Genevra… I could never have known what would come to me as I grieved and beyond…as I began to see and believe in more. Keep your heart open to the possibilities and that our loved ones, Scott, your boys, Spirit are present in ways we cannot see or hear. Grieve as you need to, and continue to reach out, read, and learn in ways that can create those new relationships. My heart goes out to you… xox
